Born in Valencia in 1944, Soledad Sevilla studied painting at the San Jorge Superior School of Fine Arts in Barcelona, Spain, and later in the United States where she was awarded a scholarship to study at Harvard University, Boston in 1981. Soledad Sevilla's paintings and installations have been widely exhibited in Europe since 1969. A celebrated artist in Spain, Sevilla has shown her work in over forty solo exhibitions, 31 installations, and 61 group exhibitions at venues such as: the Museum of Fine Art, Malaga; Museum of Contemporary Art, Sevilla; IVAM, Centro del Carmen, Valencia; La Fundacion La Caixa, Barcelona; and, the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia, Madrid; many of which also hold her work in their permanent collections. Soledad Sevilla lives and works in Barcelona, Spain.
