Haim Chanin Fine Arts presents EVRU, on view from October 29, 2004 through January 15, 2005. From Zush to Evru: The Second Incarnation features over forty new works, from miniature to large-format wax and ink drawings, bronze bells and an interactive digital installation, Tecura.

In the new millennium, Zush passed away and reincarnated into Evru. The large selection of wax and ink drawings in the exhibition documents this transition. Evru's portraits and sculptures capture a universe of dream narratives, irrational minds and sexual psychological depths. Talismanic creatures, born from the marriage of biology and technology, populate his work and speak of multiple identities. In the digital installation Tecura, the audience can partake of his world by manipulating a computer program that allows them to produce and print out their own works.

Artist, scientist and philosopher Evru seeks to spread the EVRUGO MENTAL STATE. He creates an ambience with sounds, lights, special effects and objects. He has developed a secret language, Asura, a flag and an anthem. John Yau writes, "combining absolute organization and anarchic denial, Evrugo Mental State is a conundrum that incites us to ponder such terms as "individuality," "freedom," and "responsibility."

Many prestigious museums and institutions have held individual exhibitions of Evru's works, among them the Museu d'Art Contemporani, Barcelona, (retrospective exhibition), the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, Madrid, (retrospective), Biblioteca Nacional, Madrid, Ica-Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston, Galerie de France, Paris, Marlborough Gallery, Rome. His work have been shown at MoMA, Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris, Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York, Documenta VI, and São Paulo Biennial, among others.
